Gadgets for the visually impaired are nothing new, but the Touch Sight camera is one of the most one-of-a-kind we’ve seen. Designed to be held against the forehead, the camera doesn’t have an LCD, but instead displays a three-dimensional representation of the image on a built-in Braille screen and records three seconds of audio to aid users in locating and managing shots. People have been accusing Intel of holding back the specs on USB 3.0 controllers, possibly so they themselves will have more time to design for it. But today they let fly a press release saying the specs were now available and would be released for free, as planned. The release includes some kind words from AMD, despite that company’s vocal criticism of Intel earlier.

As Intel’s Fall Developer Forum is nigh, it wouldn’t be too risky to speculate that USB 3.0 will make its glorious debut there. I’m looking forward to some 600MB/s transfer speeds, oh hell yes.
