It looks like those that found Phase One’s 60-megapixel P65+ camera a bit too much for them but Hasselblad’s 50-megapixel H3DII-50 somehow lacking may now finally have the answer they’ve been looking for, as Leaf has just introduced its new 56-megapixel AFi 10 camera system. This one’s main selling point is its 56mm true wide frame sensor that Leaf designed with DALSA, which promises to “take you to the edge of the medium-format frame.” Apart from that, you can expect a one frame per second capture time, exposure times up to a minute, light sensitivity from ISO 50 to 800 and, of course, some 171MB file sizes to impress your friends with. No word on a price and, quite frankly, we’re a little hesitant to ask.

Frightening though it may be, the fall semester is just around the corner. You know what that means? You’ll actually have to get up at — wait for it — an appointed time. Carissa, being the proactive student she’s, posed this question:

“Going to school in the fall, I’m looking for the best alarm clock to beat the late nights and what not and noticed a few digital pic frames / alarm clocks. I want a decent alarm clock that has battery backup and good resolution on the screen for viewing pics. An auxiliary audio jack would be a major plus. Which one do you guys advocate that falls under the 200 dollar mark? Thanks a million!”

Look at that — you all even received a thank you in advance! For those who’ve mastered the art of waking up on time and pretending to be a real live adult, which alarm clock / digiframe hybrid have you found to be supreme? Oh, and you know that question you’ve been hitting the snooze on? Yeah, send it on over to ask at engadget dawt com.

If this product from China can really do what they say it can, it could make working from in the pool a reality. Not that I would want to work while I was resting in the pool but I still would be nice to be able to check if I got an impotent email from the boss man.

So far the only information about this product is written in Chinese so I was not able to get any real details on it. By looking at the pictures it looks like any other World wide web device with a small keyboard and screen. It also attaches to a floating tube so you don’t have to tread water furiously to use it.

If this product ever makes it to the United Says and I have a pool by that time, I’ll cover this again. From my pool.

Well it looks like the case between Psystar and Apple is going to get interesting. It’s been reported that a law firm that has taken on Apple in the past and won, has been retained by Psystar.

The name of the California law firm is Carr & Ferrell and they specialize in intellectual property cases. You may remember them from the Burst.com case where in the end, Apple settled and paid them $10 million. Also worth noting is that they went up against Microsoft and took in $60 million.

This doesn’t guarantee that Psystar is going to win, it just means that Apple is going to have a fight in its hands. Psystar’s deadline to respond to the lawsuit was moved to August 18th, so it looks like this battle royale may kick off in the fall and probably last into next year.

FujiFilm Finepic Z200

The 10-megapixel, 1/2.3-inch CCD, 5x image stabilized optical-zoom lensed FinePix Z200fd is finally coming to the says in September for a price of $299.95. Fuji has kept all the cosumer-friendly features like dual image stabilization, dual shot mode, and a novel group timer mode that only takes the picture once it sees four faces in the frame. For you budding journos, a potentially handy blog mode automatically resizes images to 640×480 for all your important updates. And let’s not forget about the couple timer, which waits to take a shot until the lovebirds are deemed close enough.
