We’ll go ahead and let those other guys battle it out for the “world’s smallest” camcorder title — meanwhile, Sony’s just cranked out the one to really pay attention to. The HDR-TG1 Handycam checks in at just 1.3- x 4.7- x 2.5-inches and weighs ten ounces, all while boasting the capability to capture those oh-so-precious vacation moments and unannounced streaking episodes in glorious 1080p. Aside from that, it’ll snag stills at 4-megapixels and holds everything on MS Pro Duo / Pro Duo Mark2 cards, while the 2.7-inch touchscreen keeps your eyes glued to the action. Furthermore, you’ll find a 10x Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar optical zoom lens, BIONZ processing engine, 5.1 Dolby Digital audio recording and a bundled 4GB Pro Duo Mark2 card for $900. Get ready — this one’s comin’ at you next month.

See, de la Vega mentioned that all of AT&T’s smart integrated devices would be 3G within a couple months. Segan asked if that included the iPhone, and de la Vega just repeated what stated before, adding, “That should be clear enough.”

Loud and clear, boss. That May-June timeframe has just been unofficially confirmed by the CEO of AT&T. Thanks for playing everyone!

Earlier this year at CES I got to spend some time with Microsoft’s Surface device, and I was impressed by what they’re doing. Earlier this year at CES I got to spend some time with Microsoft’s Surface device, and I was impressed by what they’re doing. I’ll admit I went in with the attitude of “oh, touchscreen table, large deal”, but it’s far, far more than that.

Earlier today we brought you news that Surface was going to start appearing in AT&T stores, perhaps as customer service kiosks, and now we’ve a date: April 17. That’s rather soon.

If you haven’t had a opportunity to check Surface out yet, make a stop in to your local store. It’s worth it.

Casio’s EX-F1 has been out for a few days in Japan and to our delight, super happy tech site Impress had the opportunity to review the new ultra-quick, 6 megapixel shooter. How quick? Try 60fps burst or up to 1,200fps video. We’re not going to try and make sense of all the machine translated text. Instead, we’ll wait for a full-on English review to make sure we capture all the nuance. Until then, check the trio of videos they shot after the break in 300fps (512 x 384), 600fps (432 x 192), and 1,200fps (336 x 96). Right, as the frame rate goes up (and playback slows down) you’re left with some teeny weeny video. Still, the effect is astounding. $1,000-MSRP extraordinary is the question we’re still asking ourselves. Hit up that read link if you want to read Impress’ full review.
